Bochy's Best - SHOES

Since the days of training in astro turfs or school shoes, buying the right pair of threads for the street has been pretty important. Basically what I look for in a shoe is some sweet grip which usually kicks in after you've worn in a pair for a few weeks, good flexibility, squidgeyness for touch and an ample thickness for taking some nice height drops all for as little money as possible. These are all the shoes I've worn and how much I liked them...

Kalenji Success - £20 from decathalon, one of the cheaper pairs of training shoes but in my opinion not the best. Looks pretty shit and didn't last as long as I wanted, weren't all that comfy either, I would only recommend them if you're short on wonga - 6/10

Nike Darts - I had 1 pair of these and it was enough for me to decide they were pretty bollocks. I found them very un-comfortable, sometimes when I landed the inside of the shoe pressed against my toe. They don't look nice, nor do they last that long, I think they will cost you around £30. Pretty much dont buy this shoe haha - 5/10

K-Swiss SI18 - Properly up there with the best shoes I've worn, costed around £30 and you can get them in some cute colour combos. Only problem is that they are bloody difficult to get hold of, and if you can, make sure you get the mesh ones because the leather kicks aren't close to as good. If you can get your hands on a pair of mesh k-Swiss SI18's under 35£ in your size then your a very lucky guy, and can you send me the link? Cheers - 8/10

Asics GT Ultra - Another great pair of treads. Good all round shoes and don't look too shabby either. I've seen them worn a lot out and about whilst training so people obviously love 'em, Steve owns a badass purple pair so you cant go wrong. If I was nit picking I would say they where a little clumpy, and not that good in the wet, but still a quality trainer. Also, word on the street is that you can get them for £30 on some websites at the mo so don't hesitate if you like the sound of them because they won't hang around for long - 8/10

Feiyue - These are Martial art specific, from a French designer brand I think. They look pretty good and are nice and cheap, you can get them for around £20. I didn't really like them for training to be honest, they where just too thin for the 10m height drops I use as warm ups and if you land even slighty on your arches, you're fucked haha. To be honest I used my feyues for playing footy and cliff diving. If your training incorporates any kind of meaty impact then i wouldnt really reccomend - 5/10

Puma Cabana Racer - Close to the best shoes I've ever worn for training, another great all round shoe, in fact I had 4 pairs in a row last year, and Callum still trains with them to this day. The only reason I don't still wear them is the availability, simply cant find them in an acceptable colour combo or my size. They didnt last too long, probably because of the intense training throughout the summer months, basically if you find a pair you like I wouldn't hesitate. The Racer 2's are also sick shoes! 8.5/10

Nike Air Vortex- Probably my favourite pair of shoes I have ever worn for Parkour. They look ace, are unbelievably comfortable and when you wear in the soles they become so grippy. Sick for taking impact and sick for touch. For those reasons Me, Toby, Max and Drew are all wearing this shoe at the moment. The only problem about these trainers is the price, you will struggle to find a pair under £40, I suggest you look on eBay, I got mine for for £43 and for me that is money well spent! - 9/10

Obviously I haven't trained in every shoe on the planet, so I'm gunna give you what I think about the others I've seen.

KO 2nd Gen - WFPF's Parkour shoe, they're actually not that bad. Based on the Kalenji Success, Sacha actually had a pair for a bit and I tried them on, and they felt pretty nice, the original KO's cost 39$, so about £25 - £30, not bad!

360 Volts - 3RUN's very own trainer, they cost £30 but appear pretty poor tbh. They seem to also be based on the Success so with that, and the colour combo, I wouldn't wear them, soz.

Nike Air Vengeance - A lot of the Horsham and Portsmouth lads wear this shoe, and they seem quite good look pretty snaz. The price is a let down costing between £40 and £60, if you can find a cheap pair then drop me a link brother.

Adistar Racer- Storror's good pal Ryan Walsh wears these shoes, and they actually seem really decent for training. The setback once again is the price, around £50 which seems a bit excessive for a pair of kicks you're gonna destroy pretty quick.

Do your research, these are all based on how I train and what BOCHY C likes about a trainer... Out.
